Now bring ME snow!
Just wanted to post a couple of cool things before being buried again. Yeah the things that are worth the most take the most from you. In the end it will be worth it and hopefully you'll get sick of me when I come to visit you and exploit your hospitality...
Okay this is happening today and I'd go if I was on the west side of the US
Hi everyone!
Just wanted to remind you that ROCKRGRL Day is happening in the fiery city of Hollywood THIS Saturday, November 1! Tickets are going fast but still available through Ticketweb.com.
Meredith Brooks is the keynote speaker and we will also have performances by Harlow, Jennifer Batten, Looner, Christene LeDoux, Janet Robin, Leigh Silver & Bitterthings, Switchblade Kittens and Auburn Court.
Panelists represent a wide sector of women in the music industry (and one token man - Michael Molenda editor of Guitar Player who will talk about why there are so few women written about in mags like HIS!! AND what we can do to help change that.)
We also just added JENNIFER FINCH as a panelist, probably best known for her work in L7.
Topics covered will include how to survive industry hardships, effects of digital downloading on artists, secrets of songwriting, drummer boot camp, home recording, working in sound, how to get on the radio and lots more.
If you are in the Los Angeles area PLEASE support this event at Musicians Institute - 1655 McCadden Place, Hollywood, CA. Tickets are only $25 in advance and $30 at the door - not bad for an event that goes from 10AM until 10PM!!!

We hope all our friends down south are safe from those raging fires.

The Team http://rockrgrl.proboards12.com/index.cgi
AND then this is over here but a lil' too far south for me to pop over but if anyone who happens past this page sees it you might join in.
Gonna be in the DC area on Tuesday, November 4th? Come Rock the Vote with YouthNOISE!
Hang out, listen to some music, get to know your fellow NOISEmakers...and maybe a politician or two.
For more information, hit the boards: http://www.youthnoise.com/n/n104l1
Not in the DC area? You can still make NOISE by watching "America Rocks the Vote" live on CNN from 7-8:30pm, November 4th. Email your questions and the Democratic Presidential candidates will be answering them -- totally live and unscripted!
You could also win a free trip to Rock the Vote in Boston. But hurry up -- the contest ends at noon (EST) this Friday! http://www.youthnoise.com/n/n104l2
PS: I have another pigeon living with me again, but I think this one is going to stay.. She/he was a baby on arrival and one attempt to re-patriate the feathered fellow to the wilds of the park failed. Cheeps stayed put in the case. I love this bird but come summer I would love for the feathery friend to live outside, fly in the clouds. If anyone has any tips how to help a baby bird who thinks I am their mom get back outside where they can be with other birdies please write me. Then someone who can help the birdie-foster-mom deal with the birdie heading out one day (write me too)... This bird is awesome and cute..
Okay, back into the paper and pencil piles... oh heck first I need rest of some kind....
