on a darkling plain.

i am the child of the wasteland....a land of haunted houses and monsters i call father. dark talents run in the family, but i shatter the glass to let the moonlight in, not to destroy something fragile for the feeling of breaking beneath my fists. all i can do is scream, crawl out, and keep screaming. but i can hold the sparrow, mend its wing... i am the spring rain and the hurricane... the monsters cower now, not me, not you. *xn*

Sunrise and sunset really are the best times in the sky here. probably if i lived out in the country i'd say differently but here the colors are at least wonderful. the daytime sky is marred Sunrise and sunset really are the best times in the sky here. probably if i lived out in the country i'd say differently but here the colors are at least wonderful. the daytime sky is marred eventually by all of NYC's pollution from all the activity and the night is hard to see through the light still put out by the buildings and even though the pollution is lessened you never really see the stars like you do in the country. even where i lived in maryland i could see the milky way and so many stars. here we have starry-ish nights and they are nice but i know how much more beautiful it can be. what really holds up is the sunset and sunrise, sunset being fairly easy for most people to observe. sunrise a little harder (usually means a long night of work and everything is blurry...), but worth it too. they don't look the same at all here and even with buildings everywhere its worth watching. i like when i'm working on something thats been going on for so long and i look up and the clouds have turned pink- what a great visual surprise because then they turn so many other colors as the sun sets. sometimes when i've been working all night and its just been a black sky again i look up and the sky has turned that amazing deep early morning blue and the clouds are lavender then turn into so many others. you don't get these colors anytime else and it doesn't seem to matter what else the sky is filled those colors come through so strong and vivid... current mood:
